Lindsey Mason began his pro career when he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 3rd round (82nd overall) of the 1978 NFL Draft. He was part of the Super Bowl XV Championship team in 1980. Overall, Mason appeared in 47 regular season games for the Raiders from 1978-81 before moving on to the San Francisco 49ers in 1982 where he played in 9 games. In 1983, he finished his NFL days with 5 games for the Baltimore Colts. Mason returned to Oakland in 1984 by signing with the Invaders of the USFL. He started all 8 games he appeared in for the Invaders.
In 1985, Mason spent the final season of his career with the USFL Birmingham Stallions and wore this Russell Athletic size 50 jersey for road games. It features spandex side panels with all identifiers screen printed on. The jersey has sleeves that have been customized and shortened in length. A major repair made by the equipment staff now permanently resides on the right sleeve and there are two other small repairs elsewhere on the jersey.
