Roland Lytle appears to have played one season in professional football in 1975 with the San Antonio Wings of the World Football League. Playing statistics for Lytle are not readily available so it is unclear how much or little he played. I have seen a leaflet roster listing that was handed out to fans attending a Wings scrimmage during their only training camp that lists Lytle as having played his college football at San Francisco State but he is listed elsewhere as having attended Stephen F. Austin university.
This Speedline light mesh size 42-44 was worn by Lylte during the ill-fated 1975 WFL season. It is a match to all other Wings jerseys that have surfaced in the hobby. The jersey has screened-on sleeve stripes that now show some cracking, sewn-on numbers and individual letters to make the player name on the back of the jersey without a nameplate. The hem tag remains but is very faded.
